Misamis Occidental passengers can now travel to Bohol and vice-versa with ease as OceanJet, a wholly owned Filipino corporation that operates high-speed crafts in Visayas, is set to open its newest direct Tagbilaran-Plaridel route. This is according to the post of the said company in Facebook.

OceanJet announced its newest Tagbilaran-Plaridel route last April 4 at 8:17 PM.

As compared to the traditional route where passengers have to take Plaridel to Cebu first, then travel from Cebu to Bohol, this new shipping route will shorten travel time to just 3 hours and 30 minutes. Usually, it takes more than 10 hours for a Tagbilaran - Plaridel travel, departing Tagbilaran at 8pm and arriving at Plaridel at 7am the next day for instance.

OceanJet is making a big comeback after discontinuing Cebu-Tagbilaran-Larena-Plaridel route which started in 2003. On March 22, Ocean Jet 7 has arrived at the Port of Plaridel 1:30 in the afternoon for its Sea Test Voyage.

Plaridel is a coastal town in Misamis Occidental located between the major cities of Ozamis and Dipolog of Zamboanga del Norte. As of recently, the Philippine Ports Authority managed the port in Plaridel and it has an ongoing construction project worth more than a Hundred Million Pesos which covers the expansion and raising up of the port area designed to cater larger vessels to dock and a passenger terminal.
