This 1st class municipality in the province of Agusan del Sur in Caraga Region is nothing but penthouse of businessmen and wealthy citizens. No wonder how more than P8-billion is deposited in the banks of this progressive town, surpassing deposit records of several cities in Mindanao.

It can be recalled that in 2013, this municipality, San Francisco, topped as the "Most Competitive Municipality in the Philippines" as ranked by the National Competitiveness Council (NCC) of the Philippines.

As of December 2017, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) unveiled the town recorded P8,059,845,000-worth of bank deposit. Savings is more than P3-billion.

Within its land area of 392.53 square kilometers, there are 13 bank offices. There are 26 ATM machines serving the town, making it the municipality with the most number of ATM machines in Mindanao.

San Francisco is the "Commercial Capital of Agusan del Sur", serving as the primary commercial and service center in the province of Agusan del Sur.

The municipality has already two drive-thru Jollibee branches and shopping malls such as Gaisano Grand Mall. There is a Mc Donalds drive-thru as well. Several well-known stores such as Citi Hardware, 7-11 (second branch), and Lumina Homes are slated to open in the town.

The presence of malls, hotels, health institutions, inland resorts, colleges, private/public national, provincial and local offices, restaurants, banks, communication and transportation facilities make bank deposit in San Francisco reach P8-billion.

It is important to notice that this town’s population was 74,542 according to 2015 census, way below the 150,000 requirement of cityhood as prescribed by Republic Act No. 9009.
