Expansion continues for KCC Mall de Zamboanga

Expansion for KCC Mall de Zamboanga continues as East Wing area nears completion revealed by photo update below. The east-side expansion will be a new annex building that is connected to a 3-storey parking building. Just above the new annex building, KCC convention center will be built. The East Wing area will be adjacent to the planned transport terminal to be built along Vitaliano Agan Avenue.
After the expansion, the entire Gross Floor Area (GFA) of KCC Mall de Zamboanga will be more than 162,000 square meter, slightly smaller than SM CDO Downtown Premier which Gross Floor Area is 174,399 square meters. Technically, if we base it on GFA, KCC Mall de Zamboanga will be the new second largest mall in Mindanao. It can be recalled that SM Lanang Premier has 144,002 square meters of GFA, the second largest mall before KCC expansion. KCC Mall was 120,000 square meters big in terms of GFA when it opened last December 10, 2015.
In fairness, the 12-storey BPO tower tapped to SM CDO Downtown Premier's main mall area is already part of the 174,399 square meter Gross Floor Area. Without the BPO tower, SM CDO Downtown Premier has only 152,000 sq.m GFA since the BPO tower is more than 19,000 sq m. KCC Mall de Zamboanga would have been bigger, although the 162,000 GFA already includes the convention center, the parking lot, and the transport terminal.
