The festive lights of this bridge in the town of Carmen, North Cotabato, is not only ensuring safety of motorists and pedestrians -- it has been drawing local tourists as well.
In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, District Engineer Eliseo L. Otoc of DPWH North Cotabato Second District Engineering Office said that Ugalingan Bridge in Carmen town as well as Lumayong Bridge in the municipality of Kabakan were retrofitted on purpose of conforming to the Department’s seismic design specifications.
In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, District Engineer Eliseo L. Otoc of DPWH North Cotabato Second District Engineering Office said that Ugalingan Bridge in Carmen town as well as Lumayong Bridge in the municipality of Kabakan were retrofitted on purpose of conforming to the Department’s seismic design specifications.
According to DPWH, the LED-lighted bridges conform to Secretary Villar’s Department Order No. 49, series of 2018, which directed the inclusion of aesthetics in all bridge plans and designs.
